South Africa vs Pakistan 1st MATCH TOTAL INTERNATIONAL SERIES 1993

South Africa won the toss and elected to field first and got early breakthroughs of Anwar and Raja.
Inzamam then consolidated the innings.Pakistan in the end made a polutary score of 208.
South Africa got a great start from their opening pair of Hudson and Wessels with Hudson scoring a magnificient 93.
Just when it looked like South Africa is gonna cruise to a victory a storm struck in form of Waqar Younis.
Run outs didn't help the cause of the Africans either. In the end Pakistan won a dramatic victory.
Enjoy.

At his best, before the second injury that curtailed his speed by 15-20km, Waqar was the GREATEST EVER. No doubt in my mind. I struggle to find someone better, more accurate and more destructive than Waqar at his peak—that's why in the first half of his career a very high percentage of his wickets were LBW and bowled. And what was frightening was that he produced prodigious swing at very high speed making him unplayable against even the BEST batsmen of his era. Waqar's best was better than anybody else's best. No one comes near.
  • They were the bowlers.....the most deadly.bowling of all times in cricket....with wasim akram ..the best left armer ..waqar younis the banana swinger with great speed...then shoaib akhtar the fastest the world has ever seen.saqlain the wizard with the invention or the pioneer of dusra...that even murli followed....Abdul razzaq one of the greatest all-rounder world has ever known...azhar mahmood.amir sohail..miss those days...pakistan has every thing....out swing In swing reverse swing...deadly yorkers..bouncers..seam movement .wizardry....each and every thing a bowling unit can just dream of

In Germany, I happened to meet a 55 year old former club cricketer from England in a pub. He told me he had seen waqar bowl in 1991-1992 period in one of their county pitches from the lower side stand. He swore he broke the 100 mile barrier several times. Pity there weren't speed guns back then..

Real action starts from 10:45. South Africa needed just 50 runs off 10 overs with 9 wickets in hand. Commentators were saying South Africa almost have won the match. Waqar Younis then came and bowled out 5 batsmen with unplayable deliveries to win the match for Pakistan.

This is the trailer of bowling through out 70's, 80's and 90's. No short boundaries, no restricted power plays, less protective gear, no super charged cricket bats. This was real cricket.

Waqar always be a greatest bowler in the world, Ma Sha Allah

Loving Durban South African spectators, They are literally cheering for both teams. OR perhaps even more for Pakistan.
  • @Maaz462
Now a days 350-400 score is usual but there hardly any thrill and excitement left in the games.
  • Both South Africa and Pakistan were formidable in those years
  • I ever love to see Waqar , he never disappointed me. Batting of Inzamam ul Haq, I can watch his batting for hours n Waqar's bowling. young cricketers must follow n learn both.
  • This was when Waqar was bowling at express pace. I wish they had speed guns then. You only saw their use late in his career when his pace dropped. He bowled so many teams out on his own when pak were on the verge of heavy losses. NZ, Sri Lanka, Windies to name a few. As soon as the ball started reverse swinging, good luck!
  • That waqar out of world no man close his class ever and ever
  • @daiquiri6948
Red ball magic by waqar the great younis❤️❤️❤️
  • Who is here after sidu paji discussed this game with wasim Akram?
  • Waqar was THE fastest during 1989 to 1995, swung at sheer pace. There was no match to him in Int'l circuit
