Cassandra Cain! (Original Music)-Max Washington

Published 2024-04-29
Press read more. Cassandra Cain's first appearance was in Batman number 567 (July 1999). She has called herself Batgirl, Kasumi, Black Bat, and Orphan.
Cassandra was created by Kelley Puckett and Damion Scott.
At 21 seconds, she figures out Batman's secret identity!
At 58 seconds, she visits her father in prison. It doesn't go well.
Cassandra's parents are the assassins David Cain and Lady Shiva.
Cassandra has been played by Ella Jay Basco, and she has been voiced by Tati Gabrielle, Nanette Savard, Mindy Raymond, and Leah Lewis.
The Batgirl comics in this video are all fantastic. After this, she became a member of Batman and The Outsiders.
Cassandra was raised by her father to be an assassin. She eventually escaped and was taken in by Barbara Gordon and Batman. They trained her to be a crime-fighter. Cassandra never learned how to talk. Her father trained her to be a killing machine. Barbara taught Cassandra how to talk. After that, Cassandra actually got shot! As she learned to talk, she lost some of her earlier training, so she lost the ability to dodge bullets. She had to learn that all over again.
In this series, she teamed up with Stephanie Brown. Stephanie was Spoiler. She spoiled her father Cluemaster's crimes. Later on, Stephanie became the third Batgirl.
At one point, Cassandra battled her own mother, Lady Shiva, on a rooftop. Lady Shiva killed Cassandra, then brought her back to life, and warned her to stay away from her.
Cassandra's been through a lot!
She's worked with Harper Row, Rose Wilson, Batman, Barbara Gordon, Harley Quinn, Tim Drake, Duke Thomas, Stephanie Brown, Conner Kent, Connor Hawke, Black Lightning, Katana, and others.

  • This song literally has a heartbeat and matches Cassandra perfectly. Well done, sir
  • This was great, max! Cassandra Cain is one of my favorite characters of all time. Such a unique character that comics need more of. Cassandra's struggle with reading and her learning disability really made her relatable to me (I have a learning disability in mathematics). The Anderson Gabrych run is my favorite iteration of the character (towards the end of her series). Gabrych takes the character in a very interesting direction and it's a fitting end to the series.
