I don't do lore well. I'm not a smart person with a big brain and I don't know stuff about the world of Warhammer 40k and how my Screaming Ravens would fit into that. So I made AI do it. Hopefully it understands how a Raven Guard Successor chapter would work more than I do lmao.

Like all modern problems, the solution is to just make a computer do it and hope there aren't any huge ethical or legal ramifications. We shall see. Hopefully Games Workshop doesn't send their hit squad!

  • Remember, stealth just means that it's difficult to detect you. And it's very difficult to detect someone, if you're already dead.
  • @kyrridas1573
midnight blue armor. screaming. suffering. wailing boltgun. discord. confusion. mayhem. "whispers in the shadows, screams in the night". psychological weapons. and finally, since its given up all pretense, just straight up 'chaos'. congratulations, you've somehow created primaris Night Lords. as if the galaxy werent dangerous enough already.
  • The Screaming Ravens are the kind of guys to sneak up on someone and then hit them with a nuke
  • To be fair using the ai's constant use of chaos might be fun, you could say that they were a part of the raven guard around before the horus heresy who's thing was constantly causing chaos and now they're really miffed that they're not allowed to use that word anymore
  • Oh, my chapter? They're called the flaming fists. No, they're not an imperial fists successor....they're a dark angels successor. No they are not secretive and reclusive. They just really really like power fists.
  • I love the idea that anytime this chapter goes to war the entire battle feels like the first 3 seconds of a swat raid where it's just complete mayhem and confusion and there's so much noise you can't even think straight anymore 😂

I once made a chapter as a joke and I called them the Overdrive Marines. Their a White Scars successor chapter but their WHOLE identity is going the fastest they can their only known for speed and nothing else. No one knows their battle cry because they don't stand still long enough for anyone to hear them; The only word in their battlecry to ever be heard is "we" which is only heard as they speed right past you.
  • @tajj7
Can't you just use that model as Shrike? Use his rules, he has twin lightning claws and a jump pack.
  • The screaming ravens concept gets better and better On the changing leader thing: what if the leader is just a really loud and obnoxious black parrot, that hangs around whichever marine it feels like on the day. Could also make it a perpetual explaining why it never really dies
  • I really like the idea of really stealthy units getting up close silently, then when the enemy least expects it, lets off a giant fireworks show on one side of the base and simultaneously a heavy metal concert starts on the other side. Then while the enemy is looking back and forth trying to figure out what is going on, the shadows themselves start screaming and jump out at you with lightning claws trailing streamers. Absolutely madness, but if they left any survivors those poor sods would be so freaking paranoid.
  • I’m kitbashing Skaven Imperial guard I call them the “Nimh 1st and only” and have written some extensive lore for them already. They’re age of sigmar Skaven that made a gnaw hole too far from home and are now stranded. They are a fractured fleet-based regiment that feeds off the inconsistencies in Imperial red tape, taking the place of regiments lost in the warp whenever possible and sneaking onto and off of ships at every opportunity. They’re everywhere, but not at all important. They were probably on cadia at some point and let it be known, they definitely broke well before the planet did.

I’ve done this before! messing around with how much it can remember. ‘okay, you said this marine did this, explain the battle, how many died, who was notable? okay, give me his backstory.’ it ends up looking like a Dwarf Fortress legends mode by the end. it’s a neat idea and easy to begin creating your own lore but i’ve found it’s repetitive and struggles to really come up with anything truly ‘unique’, and you have to guide it a ton

When I started painting minis I wanted to get into Custodes because they seemed the most approachable between their scheme and their army size, but my LGS didn't have any. What they DID have was a combat patrol of Sisters, and I love the Sororitas. Now I have a sizable army of sisters painted like Custodes and a fireteam of Aquilan Shield Adeptus Janitores to babysit them.
  • I did some boys called the Trenchwardens, effectively WW1 in space marines. Their battlecry is "From the trenches we rise." It was hilarious watching chat GPT fumble every bit of info, so we had some differing experiences lol.
  • I created a space Marine Chapter that works with the Inquisition. They are called up for Tax collection or unloyal Planetary Governor. They use Gravis Armor with Troll Slayer Orange paint and Grey Night Grey edge.
  • @dpshadow7276
"In the shadows we scream" is such a fitting and cool line...by the emperor
  • 11:11 So with these Laughter Claws, the Screaming Ravens are giving their enemy the laught track treatment. Nice.
  • @games-wz7sz
For color changing paints try Vallejo Color Shift They are just a couple coats and then done. They come already able to swap colors as the light hits them differently
  • @thisguy6466
It would be pretty wild to see something like the drukhari scourge lore applied to the Screaming Ravens. Almost like a sanguinary guard squad but they're actually flying using their own hollow bone wings that scream during flight because of the way they were hollowed. Skull motif beaky helmets would look really cool on those
