As a leaf fan for 70 years I can at least say that I have seen the Leafs win numerous Stanley cups in the 60s They did it with a strong defensive core Baun Stanley Horton Hillman This is a must if winning the cup is your priority

I haven't watched hockey faithfully since the meltdown against Boston in 2013. I hardly even know any players in the NHL these days. I was far too invested and would be pissed off for days. These players don't give a shit management is unbelievably dumb and so are the fans for continuing to support this shit show. How the hell do you expect to win a cup with no D and average goal tending and 0 heart???

I recall the Rangers in 96-97 trying to have an all class core. Mark Messier, Wayne Gretzky, Adam Graves, Luc Rabitaille, Esa Tikkanen, Brian Leetch, Ulf Sammuelsson, Glenn Healy, Mike Richter. They never won the cup. Buying all star class to win the cup is not a recipe for success. Why does vegas win the cup? Because they employ players with the hunger to win it and most players are paid far lesa than the core.

When the Leafs played Florida or Boston during the regular season you could see they weren’t ready to win a playoff round. We all wanted to see this squad and coach to build success but there’s a structural flaw that’s preventing momentum post season. Goaltending isn’t there, no forecheck, team defence is weak. Flashy goals during the regular season is cool but it won’t win you a round, let alone a cup

As a capitals fan, I completely understand the leafs fans frustrations. It took the CAPS like 13 years to break the 2nd round Pittsburgh curse. Boston is yalls curse that needs to be exorcised.
