It is interesting to think of mathematical functions (mapping of natural numbers to the rational numbers) as an internal rescaling. However, I am not sure it applies for real numbers as there is no injection of real numbers inside natural numbers. My classic mathematical training makes me think that natural numbers can rescale to the subset of computable real numbers only.
