I think Raph’s bigger shell size is an indication he is going to be much bulkier than the rest. Like he’s gotta grow into it more. He’s beefier than Leo too but not noticeable YET.

I love the idea of a young Raphael being a little chunky and bigger than the rest because they'll probably have him just be jacked and the biggest when he's older if this is gonna be a series of movies. Plus it adds to the charm of them still being kids because I know a lot of people, myself included, went through that phase where they got wider but not taller until they got that massive growth spurt and everything evened out lmao

I love how they aren’t full redesigns of their own, but rather new takes on the 1988 action figures

Their stylistic design describes them perfectly Leonardo - classic perfectly balanced Rapheal - all brawn no brain Donny - all brain no brawn Mikey - little gremlin of the brothers

5:15 Yeah, I noticed that the weapons are not that polished or symmetrical. It gives off that homemade feel because splinter had to show the boys how to forge their own weapons. The hilts are made out of wood would therefore makes sense because you couldn't really get any traditional materials down the sewer. And the fact that the blades are not symmetrical and jagged shows they are not made of attritional Japanese medals either. It also shows how hard these guys train together.

I take it that they are 12-14 years old in this iteration. Much younger than any than most takes. Even Splinter looks a lot younger than other takes.

I’m pretty sure Donnie also has a Sailor Moon sticker on his staff too. Love seeing Donnie be an anime fan. It’s definitely something different and could offer some funny moments depending on how they do it

I dig the glasses on Donnie. It's a good animated shorthand for him being a nerd and maybe a bit more innocent/younger. I've seen people complain about Mikey's braces but 1) it's a cartoon and 2) if he really needed them, I'm sure Donnie could figure out how to install them.

I'm 45 years old and have loved the turtles my whole life and I can say I absolutely love this!!! I cannot wait until this is in theaters!!! They look and sound awesome!!!

I can't get over how much I love the color variations of the turtles, it reminds me so much of the 90s toys with the turtles all having different shades of green and yes Leo looks picture perfect.

Other that Leonardo being my favorite turtle, I have to say this is one of my favorite designs. It's so simple and neat and reminds heavily of the olds suits. There's something just satisfying and nostalgic about the design. I love 💞 it!!!

Nice catch noticing the engravings. Honestly Rules and Consequences are awesome names for duel swords, whoever came up with that needs a raise. I wonder if the other turtles have names for their weapons.

God, I LOVE everything about these designs! There’s pieces of all of the best designs from over the years, but they’re still completely recognizable. You can just tell that this entire project was a labor of love. I truly believe we are in for something special. And GREAT catch on the Gojo sticker! What an awesome touch.

I really dig how the turtles each have their own distinct feature. Leo has his classic 80's design with a few more embellishments added, Raph has a bandana that wraps all the way around the top hemisphere of his head, Donnie obviously has glasses, but he also wears headphones around his neck, and Mikey has braces and is built a lot slimmer than the rest. This movie is going to be nothing but a joyride.

I love how they actualy look like pre teens, this works well if they’ll make more movies in the furture were they grow up a lil bit more for each movie

I have never been a super Ninja turtles fan but have always liked them. This style, the charactizations and personalities of all the turtles really push me to this movie. Its gonna be good and I can't wait to see it.

I loved the part where we see Donnie's painful, yet 'slow', reaction to the sai sticking into his leg. "Alright, let's start off by talking about Michelangelo's head" Micky tossing his watermelon head as this is being said

I think these look great! My favorite turtles design is that when they look like their 1980 versions with light differences in their body structure and gear that adapts to their personality (like Leo being taller and Donnie using glasses).

I think they did such an excellent job of taking the classic 80s turtle design and modernizing them so they feel fresh! They're based off of them, but they aren't at all, for lack of a better word, goofy. The vibe is totally different in a way that feels new and fun and cool. I love that you pointed out all of the similarities of the wood in their weapons. I wonder if they make them themselves? Really funny to me that some elements of the Bay movie turtles (Donnie's glasses and Raph's mask design) are present here. I think it's honestly brave to say "hey, maybe that wasn't the best or most well-liked version of this franchise, but that doesn't mean we can't keep the good/interesting parts." And yeah, I like having Donnie with glasses and a few extra accessories, it feels appropriate with him being the gear guy. I do wonder about Mikey's braces, though. Where did they find a dentist? Did Donnie do those? He seems a little young for that lol.
