I used to do kyokushin, then i moved onto kickboxing, to tkd, to judo, and finally muay thai..it took me a while to find the art for me.

@touretul Gyako and Kisame are not punching techniques in kumite? The kumite you know that there is only kicks and throws?

because there are a lot of types of karate, which are different and can not be judged the same in the competition. You have 1 football, 1 basketball etc.. just to avoid disagreement

@bonorajunior you can't throw gyaku or kizami from short distance (or you can but it's not going to be a point because it's not an effective clear technique). they are straight punches. from short distance you can throw a hook punch which exists in karate but not in competitional kumite. Aghayev is useing this short distance strategy, because he is small. and also, small people are advantaged in throws, because of the lower center of weight.
