One of my favorite 40k stories was about the DE. I believe it's from "Vulcan Lives," but I might be wrong. A bunch of Marines are chasing a DE ship trying to rescue some captured citizens. They make it onto the ship and clear it room by room. They get to the sudo leader's quarters and see human organs everywhere. The organs are floating in ooze, some covered in barbs, etc. They get to the end of the quarters and realize.. The organs are from one human. He is still alive, aware, and is being tortured. They take a flamer to the room and leave quickly and in silence. Having the ship destroyed as they make it back their ship. It is not the worst story, admittedly, but it was my first taste of the DE..
