Thank you, this really helped me. Turned out my receiver needed arc turned on. My remote for it was broken, but once I got a replacement remote, I was able to access the menu to turn arc on.

Thank you!! The CEC setting did the trick on my JVC EM48FTR & Yamaha SR-B20A Sound Bar pairing via ARC.

Thank you very much. After working on this for hours I found out that the HDMI input needed to be in ARC not 4K. You rock!

On your other video I connect HDMI cable arc to TV and to my reciever arc but no sounds, then I watched this video and used my TV settings to enable arc and it works. I can watch netflex movie with Dolby Atmos sounds on my Yamaha reciever. Thank You so much for this video much appreciated 👍

A specific question I have is what should show on your reciever if you use HDMI arc as the connection? If I cycle through the program inputs on my Yamaha RXV385 reciever there are lots of options, but none says HDMI Arc.
  • Hi everyone i have a question please, my tv doesn't have hdmi arc label port on the back of the tv but when i go to tv setting, i found ARC in audio output, does it mean that my tv has hdmi arc?

The video is helpful to a point, but doesn’t address my issue. The video assumes either you have a receiver or a sound bar. I have BOTH a receiver AND a sound bar. All of my components are e-Arc enabled. I have external surround speakers connected to my receiver. I would like to have Front Centre Left Right audio played through my sound bar, while surround sound audio played through my external speakers (receiver). I can connect either the receiver or the sound bar to the TV using Arc, but not both. I can connect the sound bar to the TV using optical. I have managed to get front audio from the sound bar using e-Arc from the receiver to the TV and optical from the TV to the sound bar, but then I have no audio from my surround speakers. In this case, I had to set the TV audio output to optical. If I change the TV audio output to HDMI e-Arc, I only get sound from my surround speakers, but not front audio. This is useless. There is no option to connect the sound bar to the receiver without some heavy re-wiring and reno work. I do not really need the return channel to the receiver, since I use an Apple TV connected to my receiver as the media source. However, i could not get front sound when the receiver was connected to the TV using regular HDMI, which allowed me to connect the sound bar to the TV using e-Arc.
  • Hello... I have a question... I have a Samsung Smart TV and PTA66BT.5 is connected to the TV via bluetooth. The system is 600W I am top of the line speakers from the Z5500 THX nice sub, and the sound volume is very low compared to what it should be. When I listen to the radio I can't even put the volume up to 20 without the walls coming down. But on the TV I have to bring the volume all the way to 30 just here it somewhat ok, but again, it is nowhere near its true volume. The only think I can come up with is, the TV is limiting its power. What do you think? Thank you

No sound to my Yamaha AVR from Samsung QN800a with eARC on, but on the rare occasion that I do, it's PCM. With it turned off I get DD+ and ATMOS at my receiver but who knows if it's real. According to Plex it's transcoded AAC-5.1
  • Im trying to get my smart TV to cast to my android car stereo, sound is not a problem but I want to get picture as well. how do I do this?
  • What are reasons that it would work sometimes, and others it doesn't. I have a Samsung 85" Q90 and Denon receiver. Sometimes when I turn on the TV, the receiver and audio come on with it. Other times, only the TV and receiver come on, but there is no sound, and yet other times, the TV comes on with the TV speaker and the receiver doesn't turn on. Typically, first thing in the morning, it never works properly. After it's been on a while, it typically works properly. It's almost like it works "after it warms up". Any ideas on this?
