  • @jshauns
“Bible looks like it’s been used”... shots fired 🔥
  • As an Orthodox Christian, I appreciate this nuanced take on the canon of Scripture, especially your comparison of the Catholic view with the Orthodox view. Thank you, Fr. Casey.
  • As an (almost former) Protestant, this videos are extremely helpful. I just desperately wish the Catholic and Orthodox Churches were in communion with each other again
  • Im a protestant and have a Catholic bible, i love the maccabees being a history nerd, and Alexander the great gets a mention, keep up the good work Father, much love , May the peace of Christ be with you
  • As a Protestant I side with the Catholic Church on this one, I just can't find a reason to take the deuterocanon out of the Bible
  • @wg6263
I'm an atheist, and still find this very interesting. Just subscribed.
  • I recently started reading scripture daily, and as a former protestant, now a catholic convert, I have not taken scripture as seriously as I do now. It took a while to get to where I am, but God has gotten me on the right track
  • This was great. I have been a Catholic all my life and never knew this. Thank you
  • Thanks for this! I am a Lutheran seminarian studying Lutheran Confessions right now. You've given me some things to look into.
  • I'm a protestant, but I really appreciated you catholics, and may the church in love and faith
  • My pastor said that we Catholic are too proud about our dogma, we often forgot about our bible. We always said that our bible is the most complete but dont give a care to read it. Thanks for reminding us Pater. 🤗
  • Great explanation Love from a protestant brother in Christ
  • Oooooooh snap, that comment on Protestant bibles actually showing signs of usage was EPIC!! Great commentary as always, Father Casey!!!
  • I'm ethiopian orthodox and I think we have like 81 books... I was so confused as to why but now I sort of understand so thank you. Also, growing up in the west I find I've adopted the legalistic mindset so sometimes I get a little frustrated with orthodoxy but other times it's like a breath of fresh air lol.
  • I am an orthodox convert from an evangelical tradition. Fuller Seminary graduate and a former pastor and Bible professor. Thank you for this post, I enjoyed it.
  • My teachers taught me when I was young (in a Catholic school) to never write or scribble in the Bible. We shouldn’t fold its pages or tear them apart. I always feel like something’s wrong when I see how Protestants use to take notes on the Bible’s pages.
  • That is of course unless you’re a Catholic who bought Bishop Barron’s Word on Fire edition, then it’s understandable why it doesn’t look used because you want to preserve the fact it looks like a cathedral made into a book.
  • Father - Your videos are so great, clear, and I'm just blown away by every single one of them. Greetings from Canada!
