The follow up to 'WAKING DREAD' - see what happens when an Astartes Dreadnought crashes down on a heretic battalion... Modelled, animated and textured by me. All in Blender. (It gets better every release)

This was a long time coming. Hope you all enjoy the show! even if it is 1 minute 30 seconds long. I feel it packs a punch.

I can hear GWs lawyers furiously typing already.

I like how in general dreadnoughts are shown to be pretty clunky but when you really think about dreadnought being called "Masters of war" you trully realize that they are extermely dangerous
  • Everyone is raving about him spin cycling the cultists or soaking damage with his arms but what I liked the most was how he threw that cultists at the other cultists. That was a very novel way to chuck something if you have 360 degree waist rotation. Lol

I've always admired how a dreadnought can be used as a ballistic by simply dropping into combat

It looks clunky, but they're surprisingly dexterous. That's a Dreadnought, and you captured that perfectly.

A very brave individual, posting a warhammer fan animation in these dark times.

This actually makes sense if we think about it. Dreadnoughts are masters of war who have lived for hundreds if not thousands of years. They are constantly lubricated and worshipped whilst they slumber to prevent any harm while they rest. Once awoken, their experience, knowledge, wisdom, and foresight are their 1st tools. Those that are deployed are virtually unstoppable because of their combat prowess. In the stories most of us have read, few enemies have been able to rival a dreadnought. I realize the game has balance to ensure every player has fun; but it's nice to see how the Ancient Ones are supposed to be depicted from the books. It's refreshing to NOT see 3 Venerables completely decimated by a single squad of Orkk Boys because my friends dakkadakka 6s are unstoppable...
  • For 27 years I have thought that the dreadnoughts looked blocky and would move slowly, almost ponderously... you have purged me of these heretical thoughts. This was amazing!!!

The dreadnought acting as a human would do by shielding his face from something thrown at him truly shows that that's no machine but still a true human being. Iconic
  • I love the fact as the gunship is firing upon the Dreadnought and it's shielding itself, it begins to pre-rev the Assault Cannon before firing, nice little detail there.

Heretic: "An Imperial Dropship!? I shall go closer and inspect it" Dreadnaught: "So, you have chosen death?"
  • @danielsnow4989
"Should we not send reinforcements to aid our Venerable Kinsman, Brother-Captain?" (Captain, watching the Dreadnought spin a hapless cultist like a top:) "And deny our Ancient his simple pleasures?"

Dreadnought perfectly represented!! Power, presence, overwhelming destructive potential while still having some tactical acumen. Superb work my friend
  • Shooting at a Dreadnought with anything less than anti-vehicular weaponry will do nothing but further incense the pilot, who's having the equivalent of an eternal, enraged hangover.
  • @Willindor
Unopposed under crimson skies Immortalized, over time their legend will rise And their foes can't believe their eyes, believe their size, as they fall And the dreadnoughts dread nothing at all
  • My strat for Dawn of war: “Sir we’re losing forces.” “Drop the dreadnoughts.” “How many?” “Yes.”
  • @rowdsterrex7845
I love how the computer text before the fight says: "Purge, Rip, Tear, Eradicate, & Kill." I think those are the only lines of code a Dreadnought has... or needs.
  • I feel like besides all the other comments remarking about the fluidity and shielding itself, this also captures another aspect: the sheer f**king terror of a metal coffin with a chain gun and flamethrower just dropping out of the sky and rinsing your whole group. No epic battle music, no dramatic slow mo. Just the roar of the chain gun and the hiss of the flamethrower. This was terrifying, and I loved it.
