Over the past 10 years, TCL has taken the world by storm with their massive 100-inch+ TVs at mind-bendingly low prices. But, there’s another player that has also eaten up a bunch of TV market share from the shadows and that’s none other than Hisense. Hisense and TCL are both Chinese TV giants but the road to the top was completely different for either company. Hisense has been in the TV industry since the early 1970s. In fact, they were forced to make TVs and learn Western manufacturing methods by the Chinese government. This naturally gave them a headstart within the Chinese market but it took them decades to actually be competitive within western markets. This video explains Hisense’s long journey to the top and whether the shadow giant can eventually displace TCL as the new TV king.

I only buy hisense, I bought one couple years ago when i first moved out on my own and got my first apartment, and after a couple months, a storm came through a messed the TV up. I called hoping they'd help, but I figured they wouldn't. Initially they said they couldnt but after explaining the situation i was in to the rep, to my surprise, he told me to send it in (they gave me a shipping label), and they'll replace it. Pretty sure it was the reps call whether they'd warranty it or not but due to him helping me in a tough spot, every tv I bought after is a hisense. P.s. the replacement tv lasted 7 years before I sold it (I was still working fine) because I was moving and couldn't take it with me

Bought a Hiesen from Costco after my LG died again (repaired it the first time). Couldn’t be happier and it came with a 5-year warranty

Hisense is a popular brand here in Ghana. They used to sell cheaper appliances but it's now changing to mid-tier. The design has also gotten better.
  • Hisense is very popular in Portugal, they sell the cheapest 4K TV's by far.

Watching this on my Hisense TV. My father especially likes Hisense for their cheap price and good quality.

Our first LCD was a Hisense, it must be nearly 20 y/o now, lives in the spare room and still works fine.

You one of the few quality youtubers I can still find and stand to watch. I don't miss a video, all so good, so tech. Great work, keep it up!
  • I started with the HISENSE smart tv which was the cheapest. I just bought their Inverter Air Con at a crazy cheap price. Korean tv almost double in price.

"If you can't afford Sony, LG, Panasonic, Phillips, and Samsung, go for TCL, Hisense and Skyworth. Not any lower."
  • @daniell274
I was quite shock that Hisense is not bad at all
  • @techiist
currently using Hisense aircon. It is cheap but very good quality. Easy to maintain and still works well after 3 years!

  • Great Video, and it is great to see that the company did not come from nowhere. However I keep my TV's normally 10 years and more. I have a 13 year old LED TV in my Bedroom, with a Chrome cast I made it a smart TV. Not sure if the China TV's last that long.

went to a hisense tv sale (with "factory prices") a few years ago. the price of a brand new 50 inch tv was almost half that of sony's. i was very interested at first; but soon noticed that there were some early buyers who were literally returning 2-3 day old hisense tvs. the reason: defects. i guess these came with the factory prices.
