  • I’ve always loved how Black Ops is essentially a sequel to call of duty world at war. To be honest all the old call of duties had fantastic campaign stories.
  • Fun fact about Reznov: when you first meet him in WaW, he hands you a sniper and tells you he is too injured to use it. If you look at his hands, you can see that he is missing half his right index finger. This details is consistent throughout the game, and within Black Ops as well. However, once Mason starts hallucinating, Reznov's finger magically reappears. It was mentioned that you being a special bunch, you were given access to weapons which are not yet developed. So, you get to play with a few prototypes, such as the FAMAS; it was released 10 years after the last mission, and with its noticeable top stock. The prototype you start the last mission with comes without this top stock. About Shteiner, this is mostly something Americans don't know about the German language: If 's' is in the start of a word, and followed by 'p' or 't', it is pronounced as 'sch'(sh in english). This rule also applies to the base words in compound words. The Russians are saying his name more correctly than the Americans, but German lacks the 'uh' vowel as a whole. To add to this, many people say Einstein with an 's' and not a 'sh' Another thing about Germany - it is forbidden by law to glorify the holocaust, but also forbidden by law to deny its existence. To be fair, it is more expected of top-tier rappers to know how to play with their voices, so Ice Cube doing good VA work is to be expected. He was also more famous at the time for his acting career, as not everyone is into gangsta rap. You also forgot to mention Ed Harris being Hudson's VA, but given your age, this is excusable. Not having watched 'The Rock' is not. :D I also remembered a few secrets in the main menu room: -You can play a top-down minigame on the PC -You can access a bunch of files you unlock during the game. One of them mentions sending a young John Price to hunt down Mason.
  • 13:30 Actually, fun fact, you can discover that Nova Six was actually used in Vietnam. When you enter Kravchenko's bunker during the tunnel rat mission (can't remember the level name) if you wait around and don't immediately follow Reznov out you can hear an audio recording of Kravchenko reporting the test results on Vietnamese villagers to Dragovich.
  • Fun Fact About the Kowloon City Level - If you destroy all the nova six canisters, pick up an unregistered tape, and take it to the weapons fridge, you can use the thunder gun in that level

This is the only CoD I’ve ever prestiged in. That’s how many hours I put into it when I was a kid. Also the campaign has one of the greatest plot twists ever put in a video game. At least in my opinion.
  • For anyone who didn't understand the 'Designates Easter Egg,' the "designate" area on each mission starting in Vorkuta is Romeo(R), Echo(E), Zulu(Z), etc. The Nato Alphabet gives each letter its own word, including the infamous Alpha, Beta and Charlie.
  • absolutely YES on the talking about the Zombies! honestly, i'd like to hear about ALL the lore you can about the Nazi Zombies lore connected between all 4 Black Ops games! sure, it got really weird after Origins started talking about time Travel in BO3, but it's still awesome!
  • “punished him severely” LOVE the oversimplified reference 😂😂😂
  • I was hoping you’d cover black ops 1! This game was definitely an overall favorite! And it’s fun all around campaign, multiplayer and zombies! My only gripe is the recycled gun sounds for certain guns in multiplayer and that’s it.
  • THE NUMBERS MASON! WHAT DO THEY MEAN!?!? I’m so happy that you’re finally reviewing this amazing game!
  • Okay so im a massive WW2 buff and some of my gripes with Cod stem from this fact. However, the one in front with a gun isnt necessarily the most true story. The Red Army had some incredible means of production and their soldiers were all equip when in battle. However, there were for lack of a better word soldiers in Stalingrad who were not receiving the supply as they were not Red Army and not deemed essential. It was (if my memory serves right from the different recollections) these men who through themselves at the enemy without weapons hoping to scavenge one as time progressed. This is not to discredit the fact that Russians in that war were another breed, but id figure id share this tidbit. PS love the channel!
  • This Game was my childhood. Kinda sad you didn't cover one of the best lines in the ending; "Oswald, Compromised" Its a very small line, but when i did my 2nd playthrough, That line blew my mind. Great video, as always. Thanks for the nostalgia.
  • God I miss when CoD campaigns actually had personality and uniqueness… attention to detail. Memorable voice acting and badass musical scores that stick with you for years after you play. Man I was fortunate to have Black Ops 1 as THE game I loved to play when I was around middle school/early high school. It’s an under-appreciated masterpiece.
  • Zombies is such a core memory. Everyone just playing until all hours of the night. The good Ole days when we only knew the bliss of games and had so much fun mowing each other down in MP and going wave after wave in Zombies with the Ray!
  • Just wanna let you know I'm with you at childhood hours spent on kino, plus talking about normalizing crying. This man is amazing. Keep on keeping on
  • I just went back to beat this game on Veteran last week and now getting the BO2 challenges done. This genuinely couldn't have come at a better time.
  • @v12shane
You're only 21? You are so incredibly well spoken and have helped me find new perspectives and reasons to enjoy some of my favourite games on a much deeper level than before
  • So many emotions going through just watching this video. This was my childhood and i can still quote the vorkuta mission word for word. i dont think i can put into words how much this game means to me and im sure there are many others who feel the same way.
  • I love this game and am so happy to see you cover it! The second one is even better in my opinion as it expands on the original while also telling a new and interesting story.
  • @Tores444
I will always love this game. As were a lot of people, I was in middle school and it really helped me gain friends. We would play the party games and zombies for hours
