I think it also helps that, in many ways, the actions of the Imperium don't require, or support, a healthy, verdant world; they almost all get trashed to some extent, and humanity has already demonstrated that it can survive, and even thrive, on some of tbe worst, most benighted, world's, so the extent that the Imperium needs to go to, to reclaim a lost world, is likely less than we might otherwise imagine.

1:40 we know that admech is sometimes interested in Tau tech. We have example of AdMech taking that Tau weather control station and dismantling it for research. Also in the Last chancers book we see that AdMech took note of Tau battle domes and made their own version and made it even better by making it onboard of starship, allowing troops to train for deployment while in transit in warp (showing how AdMech is more than capable of outclassing Tau when they want to)

There is a case of a Daemon world being permanently destroyed. Unfortunately, said world had been destroyed by a disgruntled Word Bearer, and he knew the planet inside out, having been the one who discovered the world in the first place. The Imperium… probably doesn’t get to repeat his actions.

In the most recent Caul book he said that he was actually working on plans on how to reclaim and terraform former Tyranid worlds , from what i remember he said it wouldnt even be that hard.
