“two of the ones we had, had boot looping issues. so that’s always fun”

samsung still has that notification light feature where you can customize the notification light according to the colour of the apps...just that the notification light has been shifted from top to your screen around!!

Aha! The boot loop edit was golden, Adam!

I was reminded of your "every apple/google phone" videos when I visited my parents this weekend: turns out my dad is still rocking his Galaxy S2 since it was released and to my absolute astonishment it still runs pretty smoothly on Android 4.1.2 🤣
  • The “LED flash for alerts” is available through accessibility on the iPhone and iPad.

45:22 My first proper phone was the Pixel 2. It had glowing reviews from everyone. I remember Lew's video at CES where every tech YouTubers had either the iPhone X or the Pixel 2 (or both if you're Marques)

Funnily enough, I'm writing a research paper on the topic of open source software; particularly how they are licensed under the GNU General Public License and how large proprietary companies try to incorporate free software in their own products for profit. Streamlabs is straight trash for what they did.

So the super sticky Nexus 4 is because of rubber reversion, I used mine without a bumper and the sides are sticky as well. The WHITE Nexus 4 however doesn’t have this issue since the sides are made of plastic. This is a thing MrMobile has had to deal with with his “When Phones Were Fun” series where a lot of old phones were rubberized

Okay, the boot looping part got me. I was listening to it in the background and I thought I was going crazy 🤣

34:22 hearing this via Spotify was strange. I thought my phone had issues 🤣

Soft touch plastic is the worst after a few years. Every device including my old Nexus 5 gets sticky over time. The worst are old Logitech mice.

Funny enough - I recently revived my beloved Nexus 6 from a bootloop while getting nostalgic and needing a test device from my drawer of old phones. Could have been a total fluke but I noticed a behavioral change between the bootloop timing on battery and while plugged into micro-b (also noted the battery had swelled the chassis a little and wonder if it was tied to this as there were quite a few battery swells on the Nexus 6). I opted to boot it while on a qi charging mat and that worked perfectly. Switched to charging it via qi exclusively while using it as a test device. No installations, no modifications (although I did factory restore it as it was feeling a little off, BUT I COULD is the important bit).

I remember when Pink Floyd tried stop digital music stores from selling individually songs. Pink Floyd said their album sare meant to be heard as a whole. Sure Pink Floyd is happy with what Adele has done.
