As a kid, my great grandmother wouldn't allow Johnny on her TV set (she thought he was vulgar). But she went to bed early. So whenever I would visit, I would ask to sleep on the Davenport (you gotta be old to know what that is). I had to keep the volume down, but unbeknownst to my wonderful Irish great gran, I would allow Johnny in the house. I miss them both.

Recently viewed Young Frankenstein after decades. When the creature snaps his fingers twice and belts out Puttin in the Ritz. I completely lose my S***!

Mel may not do many talk shows then or now. But he is still just as hilarious today as when he did this show with Johnny. A genuine National Treasure!

How likeable is this guy? You get the feeling he is just as down to earth in person with everyone.
