Listening to Guilliman's demeanor when meeting Ventris, I like to imagine that Guilliman consciously tries to talk to Ventris the way he wished the Emperor spoke to the Primarchs - as father to son(s).
  • Can i just say Having Ventris say "hey uh... I kind of didn't obey the codex one time.." And Guilliman being like "its cool. Rules are meant to be broken sometimes." That just floored me.

"My Primarch, I can't help but notice a certain..... theme of our Chapter."

After following Ventris through his trials for years. His self doubt. His unquenching honour. It was great to see him finally meet his Father in the flesh. No other Ultramarine was more deserving.

Ventris reminds me of Cpt.Titus from the game Spacemarine.

Guilliman is behaving the way the emperor should have. If he taught his sons that humanity is what makes the emperium the best in the universe and the importance of compassion and humility I don't think the heresy would have happened. A true leader aquires his subordinates loyalty with respect, not with the fear of an iron fist. Love and respect when you can, merciless exterminatis when given no other choice.

I want Ventris to become the next Ultramarines Chapter Master.

Guilliman has really changed. He's way more human in 40k than he was in 30k. I wonder if he sees Ventris as part of that humanising evolutional process that needs to happen if Astartes are to become what the Emperor hoped they would some day?

Sounds like Ventris has quite a bit in common with Captain Titus. And sounds like they both might have been closer to Guilliman's intent.

Even 30K marines act with awe and trepidation upon coming face to face with primarchs, especially their own primarch. This reaction from Ventris is not surprising at all.

I think, Guilliman was actually happy to hear what Ventris was saying. Uriel reminded him Aeonid Tiel or probably even Rem Ventanus (Emperor I love that badass).

I distinctly remember the very first time I was introduced to the concept of the primarchs was from Ventris' perspective. He had just returned to Macragge and had decided to walk the halls where Guilliman was kept in stasis. Commenting on how he seemed as if he could wake at any moment. I read that nearly 15 years ago. This really hit me like it was my own family reunion, surprisingly emotional. Thanks for sharing.

The Ventris novels was the first Space Marine novels I read. The series was great.

Damn. Seems like Bobby G really appratiates Ventris. Something is telling me, that Ventris might become very close to his primarch, which I would love to see
  • I'm so Happy Ventris Met Guilliman. He always believed he was healing. Cool to see him meet his Hero.

I really liked the two omnibuses that followed Uriel Ventris, he's a likeable character and following him through those novels was a lot of fun.
  • I love Ventris. Such an amazing character. Gotta love Guilliman too. A truly good human.

I was completely stunned when Ventriss was unable to stand in Guillimans presence. I mean that little line of text really helped me to try and imagine, to comprehend, what Ventriss was feeling… to be in the almost divine presence of his primarch was so overwhelming for this venerated and veteran space marine he was “unable” to stand or even look at Guilliman. That is extremely telling to the sheer force of will Guilliman exudes. Imagine what his presence can do to mortal men! Just a really cool insight into how strong the aura of a primarch is; how so much time has passed since a true loyalist primarch walked the universe.

Great video mate. I feel like it’s almost a bad thing to like Guilliman in the 40k community but videos like this just make me like the guy even more

I'm 41 and been reading since the now retconned Inquisitor and original Space Marine books. Ventris is by far my favourite Ultramarine, and after all he's been through probably one of the most underrated Space Marines in all the lore... he's like a non psychic Grey Knight, what he pulled off against Perterabo's Iron Fairies I think even a veteran Grey Knight would have found difficult. This is a rather late message so I doubt you'll ever see it, but maybe looking into the most underrated space marines might be a good topic...Definitely maybe going back to those books might be worth it. Keep up the great work, my channel and passion may be all about sim racing, but I've been a 40k fan ever since I got the space crusade box set as a very young teen, and it remains something I follow as much as I can to this day. I follow most of the major 40&30k Youtubers but your passion really stands out. You're up there with the best of them, and better then most.
