Iraq and Iran should be amongst the wealthiest countries in the world.  Instead the vast oil wealth of both has been squandered on wars, weapons and hatred.
  • Sadam wasnt that smart. They used him and when they didnt win, they turned against him.

Iraqi foreign minister says we don't want any big power to interfere in this war, while he is benefiting from both Soviet and American tactical, informational and weaponry aid during the whole 8 years of this war!
  • I remember that disgusting war. Such a waste of life on both sides.

23 years later, Sa'dun Hammadi was still a government official as the speaker of the national assembly until the fall of Baghdad.

I'm a child of Iranians, and even I feel bad for the tragedy which has befallen Iraq. We're not talking about a poor, chaotic country. Iraq was rich and modern.
  • my first 8 years of life was during this war. Look at what it achieved? Nothing!!! Iran and Iraq both remain with generations of broken hearts, shattred hope of better future, dark times... Wishing for better tomorrows none the less for all humanity...
  • Well this was a very  crappy one sided, bias propaganda/ coverage of the situation :)  love how Saddam was a western sweetheart
