Best first date I ever had was also the last first date I've ever had. We met at a Panera for lunch and yes I did pay right away. I had offered to pick her up, but she felt more comfortable driving herself. Guys, don't feel bad about that, the ladies are just looking out for themselves and more power to them. Getting into a car with a guy they barely know is very intimidating for many women. I figured a lunch date would go maybe an hour and a half. We sat and talked for four hours. I'm sure it would have been longer but I had to leave to get to my job. We found tons of things in common and were able to enjoy a lovely time. I'd never been able to talk to a girl as easily as I did that day. About two years later I asked her to marry me. We've been married for six years now, have a beautiful daughter and a son on the way. Great things can happen from a first date.

I'm panic watching this 30 minutes before a first date

The best tip for becoming a dating expert: have more dates.

I agree to pay the bill as a guy. But as a college student I spent $100 on a first date, she told me she had a really good time, and then just ghosted me a day later 🙃

    1. Dress well (best version of yourself but not looking a try hard) 2. Pick the perfect place (not on your place) 3. Conversation (get to know her and if she doesn't reciprocate, she's probably not into you) 4. Know when to stop or continue your date (if you don't feel like continuing the date, be polite and tell her you had a good time) 5. Be clear about your next steps (don't give her false hopes!)

Don't be that girl that doesn't ask anything about the guy.

Tip 6: keep your eyes on the girl and forget your smartphone for a few hours 😎

So I watched this video like 2 days before a first date because I was soo nervous lol. We were going to meet up and have lunch and it turned into us hanging out for 7.5 hours. Best date of my entire life I’m actually seeing her again later lol
  • Just relax, don't forget that the girl (or man) is trying to impress you too. Just have a cup of coffee, listen and if it doesn't work out, there is plenty of fish in the sea.

I’m going on a date with this stunning girl that is way out of my league but this helped me realize that leagues don’t exist and gave me confidence

great tips! guys and girls, please unless the date is a train wreck, stay off the smart phones and pay attention to each other.

Getting ready for my first date with a girl I’d been crushing on for the entire semester at my grad school, she was frequently complimenting what I wear and would frequently bring up that she thought it was really cool that I worked as scuba instructor to pay through grad school. One the last day of the semester, I managed to conjure up the courage to ask and it was an emphatic yes. I’ve seldom felt happier lol, we’ve been texting nonstop for the three weeks between semesters and wow I already really like her, and it seems to be reciprocated. We’re going on our first date in literally 30 mins, this was incredibly helpful thank you so much!

When you said "who knows maybe that will lead to you being with them for two years" it dawned on me just how much our society has lost sight of real commitment.
  • Re: the after-date text, I don't even wait that long. I usually know whether I want to see her again by the end of the date, so if I do, I'll just tell her then that I enjoyed it and want to go out again. Then we'll work out the date and time details by text. The girls I've been out with seem to have really appreciated that.

My wife teases me about our first date (low key restaurant, open to talking and conversation)... a couple of arrogant comments on my part during the date (and I had warned her that I was operating on 2 hours of sleep that day. She was bothered enough (and kind enough) to have a much better 2nd date :) 10 years married in July.

Happy I searched for this and found it. Honestly, this is one of the best first date tips I've heard. I don't want sex during the first date. I want to get to know her first. I haven't done a first date in almost a decade. So, it was great to get a "refresher" in the topic. Thank you!

Conversation is a huge part. Keep it light. Inject in the conversation, but listen more than you speak. Women love hearing their own voice talk about themselves.

My first 4 dates: 1) Her: wow that's a nice shirt. 2) Her: wow that's a nice shirt 3) Her: okay he's wearing the same shirt as the first day 4) Her: this guy only has 2 shirts 😐

A lot has changed in the last 16 years, and I find myself in the situation of having to find someone new to share my life with. I'm trying to improve myself in dress, attitude, and how to treat both men and women, and it's nice to have yet another more traditional perspective to at least help me know I'm not completely out in left field. Thank you Courtney! Nice channel you have going here. I appreciate it.
