  • The whole "Russian accent" thing is referencing the fact that, when playing the original flash game, a lot of people thought the narrator was Russian, when instead he is French
  • For anyone who’s curious: “mise en abyme” is a term used for art within art — say a painting of someone looking at a painting, or a story within a story. Makes sense with the story of this game!

I’m not sure if it’s intentional or not, but the irony of the title being ‘There Is No Game (Full Game)’ is hilarious to me.

When I give my puppy a puzzle toy, he just aggressively beats it until the treats fall out... I'm seeing something very familiar in this video...
  • @cojec
I'm sure that people have told you this already, but just in case, the Kickstarter for this game really did fail. Thankfully, the creator made the game anyway, and we got this masterpiece.
  • The moment he starts jokingly flirting with his audience caught me off guard and i STG that when he said “babygirl” my minds cpu glitched 😂😂😂😂

1:38 that sound is actually how an orchestra checks its intonation, making sure everyone's instruments are in tune with each other the concert master plays a note on an open string then the rest of the orchestra follows with the same note after the concert master completes one full bow so Sean is somewhat correct this is part of how we prepare and check if we are ready
  • when the mood is so emotional and Jack's "my dog stepped on a bee" came out of nowhere I'm literally dying
  • I died at the "My dog stepped on a bee" part. I was so invested in that case but, to hear Sean joke about it and actually be able to pull out a tear with so little effort was just perfect. XD
  • Actually the orchestra sound is an orchestra tuning their instruments before their performance
  • "I don't know if that makes any sense, any coders out there?" Ooh boy, Jack, you have no idea how amazingly clever that song was.
  • All these years later I still want to see “There Is A Game” and it’s an actual RPG but narrated by Game and GiGi as they fight off new glitches that are trying to rip them apart again.
  • Let's just appreciate this man spent 3 hours+ of his life on a non-game to amuse us with a beautiful video

Fun fact: In Western art history, mise en abyme, literally “placement into abyss”, is a formal technique of placing a copy of an image within itself, often in a way that suggests an infinitely recurring sequence. In film theory and literary theory, it refers to the technique of inserting a story within a story.
  • Actually, it's the orchestra tuning. The 'ready' part is when the conductor rises his baton and checks if everyone is aware the he will start the piece.

Hearing Jack go “DETAINED” has immediately sparked me into rewatching the paper please series after this. I don’t make the rules.
  • 38:53 - I thought Bartitsu was a made-up thing, but it's actually a thing! It's a combination of elements from boxing, jujitsu, cane fighting and savate (French kickboxing). Apparently, the term was coined by none other than Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, author of the original Sherlock Holmes stories.

As someone who played the original game, I apriciate the "draw me a goat" reference (I atleast hope its in reference) to when you write out goat and get the goat you need to save, and the Flying squirrel OS in reference to when the Squirrel of the game steals your key and you have to get it back😁 I love the references It brings baxk the memories of going on cool maths games just to play this😢
